Reverse Logistics in the Selected Company

This diploma thesis is focused on the study of reverse logistics in the selected company. The subject of this analysis is MSV Metal Studenka, a.s., which produces components for rail vehicles. Diploma thesis is devided into three parts. The first part is focused on theoretical basis. The second part continues with introduction of the company and analysis of logistic processes, with ephasis on reverse logistics. In the third part there are presented suggestions, which should lead to the improvement of the reverse logistics processes.
Standardization of Purchasing Activities in Connection With the Production Process

Dissertation focuses on standardization processes of purchase in relation to the production of the company XYZ s.r.o. The dissertation has three parts. The first one is theoretical knowledge of the purchasing process and supplier selection. The second is about a description of the company and analysis of the current state in purchase. In the third part is proposed appropriate measure to improve the purchasing process and proposal for purchasing standards.

Dissertation work is engaged in methodical definition of the principal contributions of Supply chain management (next SCM) and focuses on proposals of approaches to increase of company effectiveness and profitability and also the whole company performance by using this method, tries to present various possibilities of measurement of this performance and to create a certain methodology for its increasing using SCM. The thesis is conceived having regard to fulfillment of the principal and partial goals of the dissertation thesis. The first part of this work is mainly dedicated to reasons of topicality and meaning of the concept SCM. The next part is focused on the present state of solved questions where describes actual opinions of experts and individual directions of using SCM in companies. This part also describes main definitions and the philosophy of SCM and is also engaged in IT support of this method. The next part is concerned with the partial goals, whose solutions create the main purpose and content of this dissertation thesis. These goals can be summarized in four fundamental spheres: .. The analysis of the present level of using the SCM model in Czech companies, .. Setting of relevant criteria for companies performance measurement in the sphere of purchase within the whole supply chain, .. Implementation of SCM into the company strategic management, .. Creation of the methodology for increasing company performance by using SCM. Partial verifications of the methodical processes in management practice of engineering manufacture companies frame a separate part. Contributions of the academic dissertation for theory and its contribution for corporation development and managerial practice are emphasized last.
Creating Logistics Concepts in the Selected Company

The thesis is focused on the logistics concept of company deal with mining of stones on the surface. The proposal part there are new possible solutions for logistics processes in the quarry. These new solutions should bring more efficient and lead to better satisfaction of customer while the costs should not increase. The proposed measures are build on previous theoretical knowledge and facts finded out by using SLEPTE and SWOT analyzes and others.
Study of a Logistic Concept Focusing on the Packaging Economy

This bachelor thesis focuses on implementation of returnable packaging to supply chain of plastic material from czech suppliers in company MANN + HUMMEL (CZ) v.o.s. In the first part of the thesis theoretical aspects of packaging management in companies will be described. The next part analyses current situation in company MANN + HUMMEL (CZ) v.o.s. regarding purchased plastic components from czech suppliers packaging management (costs calculation). Following are suggestions regarding process improvement by implementing returnable packaging to purchased plastic components from czech suppliers supply chain and preliminary cost calculation in case the implementation is carried out.
OPTIMALIZATION OF LOGISTIC FLOWS IN THE ENTERPRISE

The dissertation is concerned about, according to author still “live” problem of optimization of logistic flow, with scope to company environment. The aim is to find correct methodology for defined problem and to apply it to particular case study. Theoretical part begins with description and analysis of actual state of problematic of logistic flow optimization and listing the methods which are able to be applied to these problems. The three main groups – exact methods, heuristic methods and combined methods take part in. The analysis continues further with searching the methods, useful for application in production company environment. Vast focus is on layout design task, because once layout is created, except some minor changes, it lasts usually for some years and therefore it is necessary to consider it properly. Moreover, there is also difference between other characteristics of production, as production planning and machines / technologies upgrade and layout; the former are in a certain manner changeable and not stable, but the layout cannot be changed on for ex. weekly basis. Contribution to research is located at the end of theoretical part, which is newly modified methodology to be more suitable for practical application. Practical part begins with the description of particular case study, e.g. actual status of logistic system in enterprise. The processes described include purchasing management, production management and mainly layout design of production space. The application of suitable methods consists of group technology methods – already known method, plus newly modified method and their mutual comparison. In addition is included already known value stream mapping method. The result is recommendation for change in layout design, developed by integration of results, brought by group technology methods and value stream mapping method.
Analysis of supply chains of construction companies in the Czech Republic and Moldova

The master’s thesis analyses the factors influencing the continuity of supply chains in Czech and Moldovan construction companies, focusing on the supply chain of concrete mixes. The theoretical part explains key concepts in logistics, supply chains and marketing research. The practical part examines the relationships and processes between supplier and client of ready-mixed concrete in both countries. Based on the results, recommendations for improvements in production and distribution are proposed, and an evaluation criterion for suppliers is developed.

Diploma thesis is a proposal for measures to increase performance and efficiency of VMT ECOPACK s.r.o. supply chain. The aim is optimalize logistics, material flows for manufacturing proceses and propose an evaluation system for suplier ratings. The theoretical part explains foundations and contexts from logistics and supply chain. The analytical part is devoted to acquaintance with the company and evaluation of its current production systems from the supply chain and logistics point of view. The practical part responds to identified shortcomings and suggests a way of evaluating suppliers, implementing an ERP system, unifying suppliers and optimizing supplies.
The Performance of Supplier Customer Relationhips in first Stage of the Supply Chain

The construction of solid flexible supply networks is one of the priority trends of research and development in present-day market. According to experts (Zelený M., 2006; Kim K.S., Liang, H., Knight, G.A., 2008), small and medium-sized industrial enterprises are currently developing a relatively fast pace. Therefore, one potential direction of scientific development is the area of supplier-customer relations for small and medium business. This thesis provides the research of the supplier- customer relationship in the first stage for the medium-size enterprises with discontinuous custom production and other types of business. In the dissertation are discussed ties in supplier-customer relationships without specifying the properties and characteristics of entrepreneurship in the European Union and the Russian Federation. The main goal of the thesis is to develop the method of the selection of the first stage supplier to optimize an order management in the companies of selected type. The main goal to be achieved, the thesis contains the partial objectives: • The analysis of company’s satisfaction with the current level of provided relationship with the first stage supplier in logistics chains in enterprises of selected type, the carrying-out of the pilot research with the following analysis of the results. • The critical evaluation of currently provided information in the field of the supplier- customer relationship in a selected type of companies. • The elaboration of the universal tool to provide the comprehensive evaluation of the first stage suppliers in the selected type of companies. • The primal affirmation and examination of the ability of the elaborated tool to operate. The compilation of comparative illustrative case study. • Setting limits and conditions for the application of elaborated tool in practice and evaluation of scientific contribution.
